Gdańsk Doc Film Festival

Work is a value and a privilege. It should be the base of dignity in the family life and the base of stable social situation. Gdańsk is an important city in Polish history, as it is the place where the fight for dignity of working conditions and the fight against the system which stood against these values has begun – the Solidarity movement has been born. It is important to discuss these ideals in the place where they stem from, in all of their dimensions: scientific, artistic, social and political. This is the core of our Festival. We want to present it through the works of cinematography and discussion on the role and meaning of people in the workplace, in the contexts of global economy, united Europe, merging companies, explosion of technology, bureaucracy and oligarchy of the economy.
